My Journey

Thanks for taking the time to visit my website. Hopefully by now you are seriously thinking about taking that next step in your journey towards a happier, healthier you.

So why choose BBfit?

I first started training people 20 years ago in a private health club in Jersey and since then have helped hundreds of people achieve their goals, from just getting active and losing weight, to running their first marathon and building a level of fitness for a specific sport.

My fitness background is varied and, therefore, I believe gives me a good rounded knowledge to share with my clients. I also have 5 beautiful kids so I know what it is like to fit your training in to a busy life.

I wasn’t the sportiest kid at school, never able to climb the rope in gym or be picked for the first team in the main sports like rugby or cricket. Cross country was always something I dreaded. Although I did play county squash from age 10 to 18, and could handle myself at the wheel of a kart. At university I discovered my hand-eye cooordination from squash carried over to the hockey pitch and I captained the university mens and mixed sides, as well as playing for Cambridge City.

Deciding to take the fitness path after university I qualified as a gym instructor, and then went on to become a personal trainer as I discovered the enjoyment in helping others achieve their goals. As a trainer I felt the need to lead by example and so started to focus on running to give me my own goals and challenges. Having now run 8 marathon’s (including London & New York) and endless shorter events I consider endurance training programmes one of my specialities.

At 27 I finally took up my childhood dream of being a ‘racing driver’, winning the European Caterham Chamionship in 2006 and going on to multiple race wins and podiums in British GT at the wheel of an Aston Martin.

Hanging up my helmet in 2010 my competitive nature then found me putting on a different helmet as I took up my new found love of cycling, and I am proud to say that I represented Great Britain at the Amateur Road Racing World Finals in Denmark in 2016.

I continue to love my endurance events, whether it be on the bike or pounding the pavement, but believe, as with everything in life, a good balance is important and so to enjoy weight training, crossfit and anything else that challenges my body and mind.

I believe that in a coach/ personal trainer we all need to find someone who can find that little bit extra inside ourselves, who can push us to the next level and who can help keep us on the path that we have chosen, whatever that path may be.

Some people will only need someone for that extra 10% motivation and guidance, where as some people will need a trainer who supports them through every exercise and meal plan.

There is no right or wrong way to train, I am here to help you find the plan that is right for you.
